Abstract Heat integration by pinch method is used to modify the heat exchanger network of an industrial ethylene glycol plant. The aim reduce energy cost operating plant close maximum recovery. Pinch analysis identified a temperature 483 K, minimum heating utility 13,490.9 MJ/ton EO, and cooling 25,697 EO. Using decomposition diagram standard procedure for matching hot cold streams, retrofit exchangers developed. modified reduces external duty 45.5% 93.3%. This promising savings provide enough justification restructuring existing Moreover, additional 6% reduction in can be achieved integrating steam turbine below point.
